Boar. In many cultures, the boar has long been considered a symbol of strength, brazen aggression, ferocity, egoism, but also selfless bravery and courage.
The boar is a natural heraldic figure, symbolizing invulnerability and fearlessness, and is almost always depicted in black and in profile.
In late fall and winter, male boars develop additional armor on their necks and shoulders—a turbot. This is the name for a layer of dense, fibrous connective tissue. This “body armor” protects not only from the tusks of rivals. It can even deflect hunting bullets fired at an acute angle—either toward or after a running boar.
There are known cases of boars running a hundred meters or more with their heart already shot through.
Moreover, they are insensitive to pain and easily switch from flight to counterattack.
Enraged animals are extremely dangerous. Even tigers don’t confront them, preferring small piglets.
Therefore, a boar is a true trophy for a hunter.
